Consulting was asked to provide high level Project
Leadership across this project in order to maintain
momentum and keep the focus on delivery given that
the internal project team also had BAU (Business as
Usual) expectations during the life of this project.
In addition we were asked to provide the Subject Matter
Expertise around Service Management and 'processes'
to ensure that ITIL was adopted appropriately, and
that the processes defined met the 'business objectives'

Informing
Strategy with Environmental Scanning - a 'Futures'
project |

Strategic
planning – as most people understand it, is really
only the last part of a more comprehensive strategy
development process. Before we can devise strategy
we must have goals. Goals are a result
of the consideration and analysis of a set of options.
Options are developed out of strategic thinking. Futures
techniques such as Environmental Scanning are used
to inform the strategic thinking process by providing
a structured framework for understanding risk;
opportunity and change.

IT group of this Tertiary Institution to understand
the full range of functions and services currently
being delivered, Stakeholder expectations going forward,
desired future state, and possible structure to support
a 'services' delivery model.

areas that deliver IT services to the organisation,
and to consult with the wider key Stakeholders to
fully understand expectations. --A

and Alignment of Strategy project |

This
organisation engaged CBA Consulting consultants to
assist the definition of a marketing strategy for
the company, while also identifying the future scenarios
and strategies that would meet their projected goals.
As part of this project some futures work was undertaken
looking at horizons 1, 2, and 3 out for the next 3
to 10 years. If one understands where things are actually
headed, it is easier to plan the appropriate strategies
needed to ensure growth and sustainability for the
organisation. |

Maturity Assessment and Development of ITIL Processes

This
organisation engaged CBA Consulting to provide assistance
in the development and implementation of ITIL V3 processes.
At the outset a full ITIL maturity assessment was
required to provide an understanding of the current
state of the processes and readiness to implement
the various aspects of the Version 3 framework. |

The
next phase was to provide the organisation with skilled
resource, capability and ITIL V3 expertise to assist
the development and later implementation of ITIL V3
processes across the folowing 5 areas of the ITIL

A strategic overview of the workforce needs in the civil infrastructure industry, highlighting the sectors that warrant further exploration.
CBA Consulting was engaged by this ITO organisation to research the labour and skill shortages in the Civil Infrastructure Industry, from a quantitative data/statistical forecasts perspective and from an industry stakeholder perspective. |

Development and Alignment of IT Strategy project |

As part of a wider Data System project, this organisation engaged CBA Consulting to assist the definition of the business processes for the business, and to develop the IT strategy. The IT strategy was required to fully align with the overall organisational strategy, and provide seamless integration of the technology deployed. It then lead to developing the Business Case and the included ROI (Return on Investment) and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) for a replacement Data System. |

Research and Environmental Scan project |

Research forms the basis for most projects and requires asking the right questions. Key stakeholders were interviewed, and a survey created and actioned. It was important to get both qualitative information as well as quantitative. The environmental scan was needed to obtain perspectives and information on directions for a number of similar organisations to the client's. |

As part of an ongoing project to provide a large Governmental Trade Promotion Organisation with an Industry focus in many Global regions. This project involved analysis of the current structure, operating models, and reporting lines, and then to review these. Through interactive workshops to start developing a framework that would allow for and industry strategy and return around the KPI's for this organisation. Each region in fact had its own specific operating requirements. |
